THAT to freshen up black material it should be sponged with soapy water and then rinsed m clean water to whioh has been added a little blue. . If the material is then rubbed lightly with a solution made of 1 quart of water, 1 teaspoon of strong tea. and 1 dessertspoon of liquid ammonia, ft will look like new.
That the life of cotton underclothing will be considerably lengthened if, directly it is taken off, the garment is rinsed m cold 'water. It may then be left indefinitely for the proper wash and will not mildew or discolor.
That artificial silk hose will last twice as long if they are thoroughly soaked m cold water before being worn. This treatment also adds' considerably to their appearance and lessens their liability to "ladder."
