Where Nothing Is Worn Except Smiles
■ (From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Rep.) Germany still pursues the cult of the nude, and every once m a while comes fresh evidence of the extension of the practice of "mixed nakedness" among all sections of the people. THE number of enclosures set aside on the banks of the innumerable lakes round Berlin for the benefit of "The Friends of Nature," where men, women and children bathe and play ox sun-bathe; is steadily increasing, as it is also m the seaside resorts on the Baltic coast. The latest manifestation of the cult is evidenced by the fact that the most frequented : and most expensive-swim-ming baths m Berlin has set aside two hours a week for members of the ASr i sociation. . Then men and women, with the life of the most fashionable boulevard going on just outside, bathe and swim together with nothing on but an occasional pair of pince nez or a bathing cap. Owing to the presence of waiters, it is considered more correct to wear a bath wrap when taking refreshment afterwards at the cafe which fringes this swimming bath. Many members, however, refuse to pander to this prejudice.
