Kiddies' Champion

IT is doubtful whether there is any woman mpre interested m children and their welfare than Mrs. C. H. Ross, of Hamilton, who, despite her many activities m other directions, has ever first and foremost the happiness of the kiddies at heart. Mrs. Ross' co-operation has had. a great deal to do with the wonderful success which has attended the venture of sending some of the youngsters of Hamilton, who ,are not blessed with well-to-do parents, to the seaside, and she was largely responsible for the happy time they spent aE Raglan last summer. . ■ Other activities m which this broadminded and kindly woman is interested include amateur theatricals, particularly those of a musical nature, and last year she was the mainspring of "Katinka," which the local amateurs staged. ■ This year she is busy preparing another popular musical comedy for production, "High Jinks," and it is safe to say that her untiring energy will have much to do with its success. Even m a community far bigger than that of the thriving Waikato town, this dame of mercy and melody would ' make her presence felt, but to that particular centre she is indeed a godsend — and many are those who know it.
