And Its Many Uses Although it is only a matter of months since chromium plating first , became a commercial pos- . sibility, it is being widely exploited by motor manufacturers. QUDGBCXN pins, brake cams, valve tappets, water pump shafts, small gears and spindles are being plated with great advantage, giving freedom from wear arid destruction by rust or corrosion. One great advantage of chromium plated bearing parts is that m the process* of starting up from cold there Is no danger whatever of seizing, as a chromium/bearing- works with much less friction .than any other 'metal.' The new metal is also 'being widely ■used -for reclaiming undersized and worn-out parts, a new surface '•;' being built up which is superior to the previous one.
