inevitable crbakei-s who never cease to bemoan and bewail things generally are at it again. Newspapers are full of the gloomy words of despairing prophets, despondent prognosticators. We understand that politically, things are much worse than hopeless;" that economically, the country has already one foot over the precipice' of ruin; that morally the situation is so deplorable every citizen should garb himself m. sackcloth, wear hair shirts, and indulge m rigorous penance. But, at the risk of being denounced as utterly recklfess, we say flatly that we don?t bejieve' it. \ Certainly there' have, been 1 brighter times, economically, but business prosperity is a recurring cycle. ■./ Meanwhile stocks and shares are reasonably buoyant, crops are. growing, progressive building plans are; m operation, an d new enterprises find wide .support. . In fact, whatever the wailers weep about, . our lusty, young Dominion is neither down nor. ©y ti ■ .
