ALTHOUGHtHe publishing industry £\ of New Zealand . and Australia, is a big one, and. the newspapers of these countries are generally recognized as being of a high standard, it is strange that ho trade journal of putrlishing activities has hitherto been .issued. ■ ' "' '" The gap now. has been filled, and, with R. W. Robsoh as its editor, the | "Newspaper ; News" has made its bow amid applause from circles where its undoubted value is recognized. As an energetic pressman, one time star reporter of the Auckland "Herald," and generally well-known journalist, "R.W.R." is the right man m the right place when it comes to laying down facts and figures regarding newspaper and general . publishing developments. "Robbie" is a quiet, unassuming type. When he toured the South Sea Islands with Sir Maui Pomare's party -some years ago, a tattered old beachcomber, staggered at RobsOn's refusal to drink a bowl of kawa, summed him up as "The best- blanky wowser , I've ever, met." .
