Morrice Brilliant At Rotorua .' v (From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Golf Correspondent.) W. In the afternoon, Morrice played magnificent golf and holed out a 68, finishing with 142 against Lusk with 153. His 68 on the newly bunkered . links played m competition stands as a record for the present course. These two players eventually met m the finals of the match stage and a great gallery witnessed a hard fight. The • match play cleverness -"of the veteran came out on top and won him the tournament on the last green. H. B. Lusk has had many experiences' at Rotorua. He played the course m 61, before the bunkers . were built. Now he has succeeded m winning the event. A wonderful v golfer is H. B. Lusk. W. courses more severe than a few .years ago. H. A. Black, by holing a 66 at the Hutt, reduced the i-ecord held by R. Wagg and J. L. Black, by one stroke. Dr. Ross has been showing the-play-ers of the Otago goldfields how championships are won. At the Roxburgh tournament he got m practice for the open and won the Goldfields championship with 80-81. The downfall of Donald Grant, holder of the champion title of the Shirley links, by the club of W. P. Anderson, was a surprise. At Hamilton I saw Anderson shoot seven holes m figures which would beat Bobby Jones. Rana Wagg won the Hutt tourney with his mashie. His wonderful judgment and accuracy to the pin was too good for H. A. Black. This clvb a wins all the big matches and is well worth lots of practice. A lefthander, H. A. Randrup, slew his righthanded club-mates round after ' round and won '■ the coveted Taylor Bowl at Titirangi. Two wonderful iron shots to within two feet of the pin at the 14th and 15th cracked up J.
