THREE-QUARTER PACE
Limerick Canters Home In Warwick Stakes (By Cable. — From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Sydney Representative.) . Limerick was never going faster than three-quarter pace m the Warwick Stakes on Saturday.
HE won m a canter from Winalot and Statesman, two Melbourne Cup hopes. The champion led all the way ) and was loudly cheered on returning to scale. : Neither Winalot nor Statesman were ready, but Limerick beat them like common hacks. He should not be troubled _to win the Chelmsford Stakes on Saturday next. Prince Humphrey drew attention to his Derby prospects m the Hobartville Stakes. He was third behind Mollison and Ramulus, but was going on strongly at the end, after meeting with interference on the home turn. ,
He had no hope with Mollison, but he looks like being a possible Derby hope, even with Mollison m the field. Satrap, Arikiwai and other Maorilanders were seen out. " Satrap was mad at the machine and was badly left, but showed good pace for a few furlongs m the Warwick Stakes. Arikiwai improved marvellously on his Rosehill form. He filled third place In the Glenlee Handicap, behind Linatic and Sharp son. Arikiwai was last at Rosehill the previous Saturday, and this third was a remarkable improvement.
