Getting Attention At Right Stage (From "N. 3. Truth's" Special Auckland Rep.) Many thoroughbreds m past years up north have hardly been favored with the right care : and attention m their infancy. THIS fact has told against them when it came to racing. However, such lack of foresight cannot be levelled against Michael and Don. Lynoh regarding the Nigger Minstrel-Kitty Marlowe filly inspected hy "N.Z. Truth" at Rama Rama. '' This filly, is the only member of the Nigger Minstrel tribe round • about Auckland at present. She is a well set-up yearling with the necessary length to suggest development on sound lines. She is quartered by day m an ideal paddock and already, has displayed more speed ■ and freedom of action than any former thoroughbred of the same age which graced the Lynch brothers' farm. She is iboxed overnight' and is having thq right fodder to build her up : to give the best. Judicious feeding m their infancy plays its ipart is building up a thoroughbred's constitution. Thoroughbreds are a gamble at all times, but if the filly referred. to fails to possess real galloping ; ability, then care and shape count for nothing.
