Wanganui Rep.)
Alloy is improving with each gallop, and if the son of Thespian — Bronze continues to go on all right he will take part m the parade and also be a runner m the Debutante Stakes. He will need some racing before he will be ready to show his real quality, but then he will make things interesting for his opponents. 1 # * # Commendation's half-brother, Pedestal, will not be asked to race before the Feilding meeting comes around at the end of November. By that time he should be m good shape, though he is. very big on it now, and the chances are he will not strike top form until the autumn. . # * -• Lysander will take on one, or perhaps both sprint events, at Wanganui, but he will not be m real racing, trim until the Wellington or Auckland spring meetings come round. # # # F. Tilley has Cashier, Otalrl, Metellus, High Falutin* and Shining Armour engaged at Marton. He will have a big string m. at Wanganui, as m addition to most of the above, Glenross, Consent, Freeholdcand Laughing Prince will be seen out. # * • Metellus had a race at Feilding at Easter. He is likely to do well this season, as is also High Falutin'. # ♦ * A. Jackson has Our Jack engaged m the Marton Handicap. The gelding is striding along well on the river city tracks. ' #:#' # < ■ As ' usual, Hawera trainers will be well represented at Wanganui next month. Vivo, Bisox, Bright Glow, Paitonu, San Fera, Benzora, Partaga, Reremoana, Dermod, Polyphemus, Sagittarius and Flying Binge are/ due to race there next month. ' # # # \ Star Stranger is to rape at Marton; and no doubt he will be a runner m the Eclipse Stakes at Wanganui. The distance m that event may be a bit short for him, but his presence m the field would add to the interest. # # # A great race is promised with Kiosk, Episode, Reremoana, Mask, The Hawk, Bright Glow, Laughing Prince and others engaged. If Episode wins the Guineas it will be interesting to see her take her place m the Eclipse against the cracks. , Corinax is fining down and can be expected to improve m condition each week. The Magpie gelding did well last season and has not yet reached the zenith of his powers. # •'■■.# While J. T. Jamieson is away m Sydney with Prince Humphrey and Co., his head lad, R. Miller, has fifteen horses to keep going at Glenora Park.
