In point of fact It is not so, for the records show that more horses come to grief at the brush at the top of the straight. Last week's meeting was no exception, and each race found It ai fatal fence for a certain percentage of runners. Horsemen state quite candidly that they would rather jump. Cutts' six times than the top of the straight once. The top of the straight fence is higher than Cutts', and another factor that makes it more formidable is that, being the second to last, tired horses are being ridden into it for the run home.
