THROUGH this post this week, 1 "N.Z. Truths" keenest wireless 'fiend received a copy of the jubilee number ; of "The Radio Record," a number entirely devoted — not to radio, but to what the Radio Broadcasting Company thinks radio ought to be. Page after page is given over to platitudes. ; Not: a word is said of the complaints of listeners that have been ventilated all over t^e Dominion. Briefly, the jubilee number is propaganda of the most pronounced kind. There is a sectitn devoted to an effort to keep out competition. .The- R.B'.C. realises the dangers of comparison and is doing its utmost to combat them. There is also some small talk oii organization an^ talent. It leads nowhere. For Virele^sbrdadcasting is judged by the quality of its broadcasts; not, by its efforts to persuade intelligent people that mediocre.; talent. is top-line stuff To the Christchurch listener, at any rate, . the efforts of the ", Radio Record's" jubilee number will not .mean much. : In ChristcHurch, vocaL talent 19 lacking.
