An Eton Boy
•THERE is no abler chairman m the 1 Wairarapa district than Edgar x£< ; . Eton, of MasteVton. A •small-mafi, he can handle large subjects m •at capable manner with the minimum loss of ;time, and put a table of big men through their paces. Living now m retirement, he continues, as he has done lor years, as chairman of the Wairar, apa Hospital Board. In addition he is district coroner for Wairarapa, and serves as a member on the Trust Lands Trust. He has a knack of analysing a subject quickly and grasping the point at issue — the analytical work of a chemist's calling, no doubt helping him m 'this connection. He says what he thinks m an argument over the table, and sticks to his guns, yet bears no grudge against an opponent. The hospital patients at Masterton know him not as an abstract 'emperor of the board, but as a cheery visitor with a grin and perhaps a plug of tobacco for those m the long, white ward. ,
