(From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Auckland
Rep.)
Dargaville is after Avontfale^to race at m November. THE reason is that their 1 own track j V is to: undergo alterations which will bring .it more in 'keeping with existing requirements. j The. proposal is to race on November 1 and 3, and a programme has been drawn up, allotting £3000 m stakemoney over the two. days, with the Dargaville Cup of ten furlongs worth £400, and the President's Mile worth £360. Avondale has granted the use of its course free of charge. i It seems likely that the whole proI pdsal will be agreed to by the authorities. ■' ■• ■ '■• ■•■ ■ ' '"■■'.. F. J. Dargaville fills the office of president for the ensuing year, while C. O'Connor has been appointed starter and F. J. Macmanemiri handicapped and judge. The yearly subscription for club members has been raised to two guineas. : The meeting at Avondale should place the country club on a sound financial footing. = ■ HATHOR will be seen no. more on the track. She. is to go to Hunting Song this year. ' , , DAHADUR was taken to Gisborne, but D went wrong on arrival and could not compete. . \ .
