TRACK ALTERATIONS
WHEN the spring meeting at Ellerslie comes to be decided.' there will be a vastly improved, race path to traverse. _ A large gang of toilers are at present filling m and levelling the track from the six-furlong peg. Next year it is proposed to level off the rise near the 010 l five-: furlong post. The newly-formed track, from y between the five-furlong and halfmile pegs will probably be thrown open for constant use at the next summer meeting ' \>f the weather, does not allow, for the change m the spring. All these alterations should bring about a considerable " difference m the times registered, especially over six furlongs.
