Just Human
I AWYERS are not exempt from 14 human shortcomings, even though their legal self-esteem might appear to detach them from the common rut of humanity. If they can squeeze a subtle point through the door of inadmissible evidence, do they attempt it? Of course! They're just human, though at times they wouldn't like you to think so. Like ourselves, they do not care to see the other fellow getting away with a shrewd notion, but when it comes to their own opportunities — why, that's different. "Surely, this is a most, improper way of leading the witness?" was the burden of a complaint raised by Lawyer "Archie" Seivwright before Magistrate Salmon m. the Wellington Maintenance Court.
