His was an impudent, get-rich-quick scheme. <•'•"' Gaining employment from the Auckland agent of the Dominion . Portrait Co., he devised the Idea ' of presenting bogus orders to his employer which brought him m the sum of 15/- commission on each .order; When arrested he told the police he was a remittance man. "I; have made inquiries, I',l', stated Probation Officer Campbell,;, "and find that accused had been m trouble m England.
