TAIPARE'S CUP
Is Brilliant Over Two Miles (From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Auckland Rep.) One of the easiest victories recorded at Alexandra Park last week was Taipare's : Adams Memorial Cup. HRAWING No. 1 marble m the limit division, he moved away fast, but Driver McMillan decided to let something else set the pace. v The grey was steadied and. allowod to drop back to sixth, though still, keeping his position pn the rails. Alongside the fence the, going was up to their ' hocks, but they ploughed through it at a fair pace considering. Five furlongs from home Taipare literally flew, giving nothing else a chance to get within striking distance of him. .■■..-. The win was impressive, but was anticipated by many who saw him win over. two miles at Hawera and be unlucky to get touched off at Te Aroha. Taipare had previously been a good sprinter, but on Adams Cup form he will have to be seriously reckoned with when some of the big heats roll round m the north next season.
