THUS a solicitor m the Magistrate's Court the other day: "I submit, your worship, that my client is entitled to be discharged on the evidence. Anyhow," owing to the conflicting evidence of the witnesses for the prosecution, I submit that . your worship must have a doubt, and my client is entitled to that doubt. And, m any case, I submit that my client has already been sufficiently punished for the offence." His client was convicted.
