Broken weather, including a fall of snow, has further tended to retard matters. . He has completely shaken off the effects of the gruelling he received m carrying off the honors m the big-Otago handicap. ##• . # Overhaul, which did not show his true form at the Dunedin winter meeting, has been sent up to Central Otago to browse about until the spring. He was schooled before being turned out and took quite kindly to the obstacles. In view of his track work right! up to the eve of the meeting, a doubt was raised whether he had just had a . gallop too many, or whether he- had developed roguish habits; L. J. Ellis, the Southland lightweight, who is to accompany F.
