WORSE THAN EXPECTED
IT Is bad news to record that Wharncliffe'B leg trouble is more serious than was first expeoted. When he went wrong It was reckoned that it was only temporary and that the National would find him a competitor. It now transpires that the trouble is something really 6erious and that he is not likely to be seen this winter. Steve Barrett wants to win a National, but nothing but bad luck comes his way. Every time he moves he runs into It. He'll just have to keep on hoping—some day his luck will change as it did m the New Zealand Cup.
