HIS QUESTION Owner Who Asked For It
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Auckland Rep.) There is an old and.. true' saying that a still tongue shows a wise head. r\N the opening day of the Auckland winter meeting twelve months ago, an owner asked the question that if his competitor won a mile and a-half event, would that victory be taken into consideration when the handicaps were framed for the Adams Memorial on the second day? "N.Z. Truth" does not know what reply he received to that question, but does , know that the stewards politely informed the owner to be very careful over the running of, his competitor. ' The pacer did not start on the first/day. Now, who's going to ask the question this time? J - _ . . : *
