KORO PETER'S GREAT CONTEST
His Change In Ownership Will Not Affect Match With First Wrack (From "N.Z. Truth's" Special" Auckland Representative.) MO bomshell exploded in Auckland trotting circles when it be- ' came known that Koro Peter had been purchased by Mrs. Sweetapple. •
AS a matter of fact, when J.' Shaw journeyed to Papamoa and brought the two-year-old back with him, it looked very much aB if a deal was likely to eventuate. The son of Peter Moko is undoubtedly a good one — and the Auckland ladyowner seldom misses a chance of getting hold of a payable proposition at the right price, small or otherwise. The change of ownership will not interfere with the forthcoming match between Koro Peter and First Wrack, to eventuate on June 27 at Alexandra Park. So far as' the match is concerned, Koro Peler's two weeks in the paddock, after his win at Cambridge, are considered likely to see him a trifle jolly on the day. ■
That, in conjunction with the fact that his opponent has had recent racing, ia reckoned to be a handicap against him. \ . . , On the other hand, First "Wrack at Ashburton last Saturday went to a break early, a repetition of which, when measuring strides with the Auckland representative, will probably see her beaten. \ ■ ■ .'■.-.. ■ .. ■ (.- For Koro Peter has so far never been known to break .under pressure and is as solid as the day. . T. W. Cooper, his former owner, was taking him to Australia to contest the Goulburn and . Melbourne Derbies next year, but now that trip is -uncertain. .
