A STRONG, forceful jaw, a determined mouth and a look about him that . bespeaks the will to win. That is George Thomas Booth, one of the pillars of the world of big business m Christchurch.
For all his Seventy years, he has an energy that belies his age, but G.T.B. has always been a worker, as the Dominion-wide activities and interests of the firm of Booth Mac Donald prove His name is linked with the commercial and industrial progress of Christchurch, which owes much of its reputation as a manufacturing centre to George T. Booth
He is not the man to waste words ; v what he says is always £o the point. In his time he has been president of the Industrial Association, Employers' Association, Chamber of Commerce and. the Employers' Federation of New Zealand. He took a prominent part m the N.Z. International Exhibition of 1906. Anything, m ract, that tends to boost the industrial welfare of the city and the Dominion m general can always depend on getting a good hearing. He has done his share of public service and m 1890 was mayor of Sydenham. • A busy man ia Booth, with plenty of kick left yet.
