Elgar's Symphony

pLGAR has only recently been pro- **' perly appreciated by the gramophone companies, and there must be many who will be grateful to H.M.V. for the fine series of the composer's works which iq now becoming available. .

The E Flat Symphony is one of the best things that the gramophone company has done. It is Elgar m his most impressive and inspired mood,

The composer himelf conducts. The initiated were aware that the fine performance of "Gerontius" at the Albert Hall last February was being recorded, and the discs will be very welcome.

This mighty music has been very skilfully recorded, and except that one or two of the numbers are too abruptly terminated, the records are worthy of very high praise.
