Young— Yeoman
IT is a curious twist of psychology that bullet -headed folk appear to
' resent the manifestation of a firm conviction m other people..
Addle-pated sons and daughters, too, of the glib-tongued family which invariably find a way to public committees and the like, take pleasure m loosening a stream of invective against the arguments of sane forcefulness.
Carping analysis of another man s viewpoint is, after all, but little more than unadulterated envy. John C. Young, company manager, Soccer executive' and bright light on many public stages of civic existence m Palmerston North, has often a good deal to combat m the nature of pettifogging criticism, but, m keeping with many more sons of Scotland, his clear forethought and worldly, experience liave been the 'guiding light fpr many youthful apostles of sportsmanship m numerous fields
Whilst he may be ever willing "to acr knowledge the cogency of another's arguments, he. has the innate virtue of tactfully overriding proposals -which have shallow attractiveness as the principal element of appeal. His work and enthusiasm on behalf of Soccer are monumental testimonials to his sincerity as a sportsman, whilst his endeavors along the avenue of public *and commercial enterprise are equally self-evident.
A very pleasant fellow, whoso attributes have attracted many stalwart friendships.
