REMODELLING
A Point or Two On How To Do It
If last year's silk jumper suit is showing no signs of wear and tear, and you, knowing how well it suits you, are racking your brains for a way to remo.d.el it, here's a suggestion, also an idea or two for further remodelling.
TF the jumper has a collar, cut it off! A and cut the neck into a V; then bind the V with two bands of silk both in different and contrasting shades.
Then insert two bands of the same silks in the jumper above the natural waist line, treat the cuffs in the same way, and finish off the hips with similar bands.
If your suit is in a silver grey or any of the beige colors, the silk bands would look beautiful if carried out in Wedgwood blue and a soft shade of rose.
A last season's white satin evening frock can be "made over" into the loveliest little "magpie" effect, if the skirt is taken off at the hip line and a black satin fringed skirt put in its place.
A large "chou" of black and white velvet petals perched on the shoulder would strike another chic note.
Your old felt hat would be vastly improved if you cut a number of little slots in the crown, row upon row of them, and thread through the slots narrow corded ribbon to match or contrast with the felt.
If you are tired of your black georgette frock, freshen it up by wearing underneath a pale flesh pink slip, then wear as a posy a large pink georgette flower.
