CANTERBURY HANDICAP

Logan Park A Dangerous Riv For Black Admiral

(By "The Toff.")

The Canterbury Handicap of 1100 sovs. will be decided at Addington on Monday next. It is one of the most exclusive contests on the light-harness calendar.

THE conditions restrict entry to horses that have done 4.30 or better.

So it is a gamble as to whether he will go solid or not. If he does, he will be a nuisance on the trip.

Of the 16 entered, St. Maura has been declared ineligible.

Talent is very well and from 12yds., he is happily placed.

This leaves 15 high-olass horses to go to the post, and barring accidents they should survive the final payment.

The trotter, Trampfast, enjoys the limit along with the pacers, Golden Devon, Fight Ever, Logan Park, Trenand and Roicole.

There can be no doubt that v Logan Park is the pick of the

basket and on his Wellington per-

formances he should take a power of beating.

He is a bit tricky at the post, but 5f his pilot can fluke him away from the barrier he should keep the opposition busy.

The trotting' g-eldins, Trampfast, has (heaps of ability and on the first day at Dunedin he went a fine race, but 3n a similar class on the second day ,<he wouldn't do a thing right,

Talent's form does not strike one sufficiently to picture him being in front of Logan" Park, however, and as Talaro invariably goes a good race when he. is fresh it is probable that he will beat Talent also.

Queen's Own, Black Admiral, Dalnahine and Acron are on 48yds.

. While Dalnahine's performances at Forbury were of an outstanding character, one would pick Black Admiral to beat him.

Loganwood, on 60yds., is apt to go well; so is Waitaki Girl, but if Prince Pointer is himself he will keep them all on the job.

At the same time, it -would seem that Logan Park, Black Admiral and Dalnahine may fight out the principal places.
