MINOR RACES
Lesser Company At Stratford
There should not be any shortage of runners in the minor events at Stratford on Monday.
QUITE large acceptances have been received for the subsidiary events on the programme and the racing will have everybody guessing. Taranaki followers will know more about the chances in the Trial . Stakes than anyone at a distance, so it is left to them.
In the Taranaki High Weight there are a number with engagements later in the day and just what they are going to do somewhat confuses the issue.
Royal ' Acre has shown up as a sprinter to date and so the distance may trouble him.
It is, a most peculiar race to make out and perhaps the Taranaki winner, Onward, may show out again. Hurdle races at the meeting always bring out good contests and on Monday there will be another fine race. Uralla has winning form this week and that will not be passed by. She can be depended on to hold her own.
Pink Rose shines over the distance and with Highflown may give the Auckland mare most trouble.
Saved up for the Railway Handicap, Royal Acre will be the one punters will want to be on.
He is particularly fast and should reach better company. Quilfire was capable of beating Town Bird this week and that is no mean performance. He -will be considered.
Seastar was also a winner at New Plymouth.
Coomassie will be at home over six or seven furlongs down south.
