THE KING'S PLATE
MEITHER Agrion nor Cimabue claim engagement m the King's Plate mile on the second day of the A.R.C. summer ' meeting, though Great Charter, Gascony, Paganelli and In the Shade are among three-year-olds engaged, and if this quartet start it looks like one of their number being returned the winner at weight-for-age. Probably Great Charter or In the Shade, though both are also entared for the Summer Cup on the same afternoon. NEARLY DISASTER AFTER passing the post a winner m ** the Te Awamutu Cup, Desert Glow, m being eased up, slipped its saddle and unseated his rider. Orange. As he got mixed up with other horses, disaster was feared, but fortunately nothing serious happened. Desert Glow being finally caught with the saddle well back near his rump. However, the weigh-in signal was right.
