TWO FOR HIM
Webster Still In Limelight (By Cable.—From "N.Z, Truth's" •Special Sydney Rep.) s Dug. Webster had a gala week with two of his Maoriland team. MOUTOA WONDER won at the Ascot ponies on Wednesday last and Jaaz Ba.by jazzed home in the lead in a division of the Canterbury Plying oh Saturday. It was Jazz Baby's second win since coming across. Heavy rain made*the track /ike a ploughed field, and horses were fetlock deep in mud; - Jazz Baby thought he was homo again and wallowed in the slush on the rails for a few furlongs. He then came with a paralysing run and got up in time to win. Webster' must be very nearly the last of the New Zealanders who came over for the spring meeting to remain ( here. ' He certainly is having a profitable trip. OVER HURDLES ' JORD STAR'S initial victory over " hurdles was achieved after hard riding on the part of Bill Rennie from the home turn. For a horse which was good enough to be in the fighting line with the leaders at the last fence in the Winter Hurdles, he returned a surprisingly good dividend. v Those opposed to him were of moderate quality. TEA TIME'S DEFEAT THE defeat of Tea Time on opening •*■ day at Taumarunui .was a sad blow to punters. The Tea Tray horse looked well, but after threatening to go to the front in the middle stages of the event he collapsed mysteriously under pressure when expected to come on. That made only second time in his career that he finished outside a place. He could not have been himself that day-and will surely make amends*
