Cimabue Has Many Curious
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Auckland Rep.). Northerners are more than a little curious about Cimabue's prospects for the Railway. THE showing of the son of Leighton *■ at Woodville is being eagerly awaited. * Cimabue displayed great sprinting ability as a two-year-old on more than one occasion. It was an Ellerslie audience that saw him win handsomely last autumn with 9.13. If fit on Boxing Day with his handy Impost of 7.12 he is expected to be one of those making- the pace merry from barrier rise m the Railway. In passing it may be added there is still a bit of feeling up north over the Cimabue deal of last autumn. Be that as It may, punters will not worry who owns the three-year-old should he come home m the Railway. "The horse that pays the dividend Is what counts with them.
Against the contention that the course does not come up to requirements, the Takapuna Club officials state that the majority of horsemen, when giving evidence at inquiries, say that the course is safe. Get the self-same horsemen outside the inquiry room and there is a different story.
Takapuna members also use the argument that other courses (even Ellerslie) have their percentage of falls, also that Paeroa and Te Aroha, and
