Railway Weights Are Mass Of Figures

Horses from the Auckland province win their share of Railway Handicaps, and one from that district may score this year.

THE weights for the Boxing Day sprint are out, and they represent a mass of figures. In all, sixty-eight horses were put under the rule by the handicapper. He starts off with Reremoana, 9.5, and Commendation, 9.3. but neither is intended to.be on the spot. This will' leave either Aussie or Kiosk, which have 8.13 each, to carry number one cloth. Kiosk may stay at home for the Stakes at Awapuni. Thus Aussie will head the list, and it. will be quite m order if he heads the field home. He is a sprinter extraordinary, and the race will find him very close at the finish. The Hawk is on the down grade, while Civility has yet to strike her best form. be respected, but it Is doubtful If he is within five pounds of Aussie. The ground may fix Delightment, while Lysander appreciates a little extra distance. Half a dozen are burdened with 8.2 and the pick of the bunch is Paganelli, though White Fang has good form on the other side. . But Paganelli is a, really good horse, and his brilliancy will stand to him on the day. Given a preparation for the race, Cimabue, which has not raced since last autumn, would be high m market quotations — or m other words at a short price. He has speed, can begin like a whippet, and has all the gameness needed. Along with him m the 7.12 division are Benzora and Paperchase, but they may not just reach the class. Money Order, weighted at 7.10, has had three pounds added for his success at Timaru. He is a brilliant customer, but then he will meet several of that ilk onBoxing Day. Gascony and Silver Mine are two smart three-year-olds nicely placed. The tail, as per usual, is as long as a kite's, and possibly one or two risks have been taken, by the adjuster.
