GOOD SORT
Pouri Is Going To Improve
Practically every member of the Spalpeen tribe could, jump— both hurdles and big country. THERE is' one of the breed kicking *■ about the country at the present time that is no disgrace to the family. This is Pouri, a winner at Feilding last week. He was distinctly unlucky that he did not win a double at that meeting, for a bad jump he put m on the first day must have cost him the race. The second day Ernie Warner adopted diffei-ent tactics with the gelding and rode him m behind. Though Warner was hard at him when he turned for home, Pouri came on m very taking style to win nicely. Consistency is Pouri's second name and he •is improving with every outing. It is known that his connections have a high opinion of him, and with that master, Frank Tutchen.to superintend his work big things can be expected. Next winter should see him high up m the jumping business.
