TREA T FOR WELLINGTON FANS
T AST week it was hinted that the Wellington Association had gone to sleep on itself , but that/ was not quite correct, v It is very much awake at the present time and* as a result of its activities, patrons m the Capital City have a treat, in store for them— if everything works out to schedule. When m Sydney recently, George Aldridge, secretary of the Council, arranged with Billy McAllister; the leading, boy m the bantam : division, to make a trip to New Zealand. That there would be three fights for him was practically certain and McAllister was keen to hav.e a look at the country —and our fighters. y ■ -I",
; Gettmg worthy opponents was the first, consideration and this this Association arranged with Archie Leckie, mentor of Tommy Griffiths and Johnny Leckie, to stack both his lads against the visitor. Griffiths will have the first crack at McAllister somewhere towards the end of January and a fortnight later Leckie will engage him. , These two contests are bouts par excellence, and that they will be fully appreciated there is not the least doubt. . It will show the- best from Australia against the two best boys m New Zealand. '..'■/. \ And what is wrong with an Australasian championship contest? Just think of that and sit ba^ck and await McAllister's arrival. ■ iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiijiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiijiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
