Therefore it behoves us to make those garters as decorative as possible. America's latest fad is the knee bracelet, which can be made as useful as it is ornamental. Most of us can wield a fairly clever needle and these -knee-bracelets give an: opportunity for that cleverness. v Beaded garters that gleam with tiny beads mean a tedious process if done by hand, but narrow strips of ma-chine-beaded ribbon can be bought; at almost any store. . ■ .; Buy sufficient to make' two garters, mount on elastic and finisli off witty a gold or silver clasp. ii Wearing these you do your evening frock "proud." V '.■■' Silver tissue or gold allied to tiny flower buds make the prettiest garters, and strips of diamente give the extra glitter to glittering dance frocks. Tiny tufts of feathers are old favorites and as such are m demand as a finish to the ribbon garter. If you want to be really gorgeous m the matter of these knee bracelets make a pair, each one consisting ■. of half-a-dozen strands of tiny silver; or gold beads threaded on elastic and punctuated with a semi-precious stone or fiat glass bead here'ahd there. Clasp each garter with a beaded buckle or very, ornate clasp,:: and you will have something that resembles the jewelled garters of ye knights of old. Whether you like these accessories to be penny plain or tuppence colored, never, never wear frayed or grubby garters. More often than not they're noticed and after all ribbon is' cheap enough for you to have a plentiful supply of fresh, clean garters.
