CPECIAL offerings will be made to ** patrons of the Regent Theatre commencing from to-morrow (Friday) to celebrate the anniversary of its opening. The occasion marks the forerunner of 1 an important series of double -feature programmes and m future, the slogan of this coßy house will be "bigger and better" entertainment. The two star feature, pictures booked ] for "birthday week" are as bright and cheery as the occasion demands. Ed- ; die Cantoi*, famous Ziegfeld Follies comedian, arrives . m the mirthful, rollicking' comedy - drama, "Special Delivery.?' He always had an ambition to* blow a.' whistle and m this production you see him with his wish gratified. The other big special features dainty Betty Bronson m "Ritzy," adapted from the story by the well-known writer Elinor Glyn. Apart from these two big pictures the usual bright vaudeville entertainment will also help to make this anniversary week at the Regent a memorable one. * • •'. Epic of the Air nURING the filming of the Lucten **, Hub bard production, "Wings," made for Paramount, under the direction of "William Wellman, . "aces" of four nations actively participated t ln the battle scenes. The aces appearing m the picture include Captain S. C. Campbell, British ace, with a record of twenty 'planes. ... . Ted Parsons, an American flyer, who served with the French air; service and won his right to the term "French ace" by a record of eighteen 'planes. William Wellman, director of the production, served with the Lafayette Squadron, was himself brought down to craeh up m a tree and was invalided home with a broken back. Baron von Hartman won his record on the Russian front. This production Is due for release m New Zealand shortly.
