Diggers ' Friend

A L.MOST too conscientious is the f\ term that might be applied to Ed-

ward Harold Sharp, hard-working secretary of the Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association.

Though he has not occupied the secretarial chair of the "diggers'" asoociation for many years, he has established himself m the affection and esteem of its members.

His first plaintive cry was heard somewhere m England m the year 1880 and m 1902 he came out to New Zealand.

Joining the firm of Dalgety's, he remained m their employ until 1923, with an interval during which he was away overseas throwirig his weight into the big fight.

It was m 1925 that he was invited to .take a hand m running the association and he has been at it ever einoe.
