nURING- a recent municipal poll it was observed that several wives of men m good — indeed, very good — positions, were acting as poll clerks and general factotums. Of course, there is pay attached to these temporary positions and no one takes exception to legitimate payment for legitimate service. The work may be very onerous. The point does arise, however, whether, m view of the unemployment cry, it is "cricket" to jump into a position that might conceivably be better filled by a genuinely needy member of the unemployed.
