Examine the Wires
In many engines m which, the high tension wires pass through conduits on their way to theSplugs the rubber • insulation becomes m time soaked with oil, and loses its value as an insulating medium. W^HERE ignition troubles are experi- " enced m such cases it is a good idea to suspect the wires and by releasing them from the conduit one at a time look for breaks m the rubber or any undue softening. . Replacement of bad wires will frequently effect a cure of intermittent missfiring. In the event of the trouble occurring on . the road binding the broken wire or rubber with 'adhesive tape n will work just as well until a permanent repanv can be made.
Keep the battery fastened securely m the box, either by installing or wedging with wood. If it moves the jarring will break either the ground wire at the frame or terminals at the battery.
