WILL PAPATU STAY?

DAPATU is believed to be receiving a * preparation for the Auckland Cup, but so far as his racing deeds df this spring are concerned, he has thrown out no indication of being a prospective winner of such an important event, while m the past he hardly impressed as a suitable stayer for such a race. Still, if George Paul has notions that Papatu will stay, he should know something about it, for he has had the right experience. Papatu won his first race on the Whangarei track, while his stable companion, Awarere, also succeeded m catching the judge's optic on the same track, last autumn. . So far, .Awarere has not made a public appearance this season.
