Truth's" Special Auckland Rep.). 1 Minor events at Whangarei today promise to create spirited competition, with Bombardier and Brampton likely to make matters interesting m the Spring Plate. THE' first- named, ran a great race for the distance m a better class at the Thames fixture and may prove reliable. For the Kensington Hack, Tea Time and Judge's Box may go out fast and carry the money; but the weight may just tell on them ifi Carinthia or Golden Wedding chance to hpp off smartly. . ' \ This pair should both win m the hack class, while the prospects of both Dimmer and Creation cannot be cast aside. Carinthia may eventually turn t out the best hack of the lot cn r gaged, but this will' be his first start for some time. Ned 'Kelly .will.- go fast m the hurdles, but should find Queen Emerald and Slump looming up towards the finish. Queen Emerald looks one likely to trouble the judge. If Exalted fails to see out the six furlongs m the County with 8.3, she cannot be worth persevering with, for they are mostly a pack of "has-beens." However, she does stop quickly when she stops and • this has to be risked, despite her speed. On Baby Bun's second to Romford over a mile at Ellerslie a few weeks back, she reads nicely m the Hikurangi Hack of seven furlongs at 8.0, with Golden Wedding (if reserved), Macroom, Creation and Piet as a likely quartet to show up. The. track may be against Nassock and Whakarite, while Alonsog and To Korbke may be troubled by their poundage; If Sleepy Sol is kept specially for the Parahaki mile, he will give trouble, while Serang, Wenday and Athenry all havo recent form of note to make matters tricky for punters. Sleepy Sol usually does best m his first start and he headed off Ballymoy 11. and Ctijv over a mile at Thames.

Plet may be considered fairly well placed m the Spring Plate at Whangarei. -
