Lamb, P.C.

AVERY dusty and not altogether modern Hupp car working its passage along hot, sun-baked roads . . . clouds of pebbles and dust flying m all directions ... a strictly decorous observance of all speed laws . . . Constable Lamb is on the job! His district is a wide one. This morning he is m Cuiverden —this afternoon he may be at Hanmer Springs — this evening he may be forty miles away; and all these miles to be travelled m order that the dignity of the law might be upheld. Lamb knows his job. He realizes that m common with all policemen working alone m way-back territories, he has many difficulties to face. At times he has to combine endless tact and patience with gentle firmness. Sufficient to say, he does it. That's what he's there for. ■
