Trotting Candidates Show Their Paces On Labor Day

Bankhead got off nicely at Oamaru, but m Heroic he found one that was too good for him. # ♦ • Return Voyage is a good-going three-year-old by Happy "Voyage. # • ♦ Neerson is a strongly-built pacer that should train on to win races. He is a half-brother to Glenelg. .*. * * Heroic waited on the opposition m the Trial Handicap at Oamaru till within a furlong of home and then drew out to get the money. He is a plain-going pacer, but can turn on some speed and he can stay. # • * Dalnahine put the seal on his fame when , he strolled away from his opponents m the Oamaru Cup. He is a much improved pacer and might do even better before the season closes. # # • Harold Thorpe met with slight interference going into the back stretch the last time m the Oamaru Cup. It made no difference to the result; he would not have beaten Dalnahine. # # # - King Pointer took his breakfast, dinner and tea at the start of the Pukeuri Handicap at Oamaru and then won. # « * Lingfield is a good mare m saddle and one that will win races. # # # Kriesler's pet journey is one mile. # * * Commander Bingen was regarded as unbeatable at Oamaru, but he broke at the start and again later \n the race. He failed to begin properly.

WHEN EDEN HALL MISSED FDEN HAL.L missed the bus when duly expected to land the Waikato Cup.His party may feel inclined to put the failure down to the interference he met with, but. "N.Z. Truth" does not think he could have got there that day. Still, he will be home shortly.
