Pedestrians And "Safety First" Rules
(1) Don't forget the road is made for everybody — it's up to everybody to see that it's a safe road. (2) Don't fall asleep when crossing a thoroughfare — you may wake up in hospital. (3) Don't step off the pavement until you know what traffic is coming. (4) Don't swear at the motorist who hoots at you — he is not wantonly annoying you. (5) Don't hold conversations or read newspapers in the middle of a thoroughfare — it's more shady and less dangerous on the pavement. (6) For everybody: Don't forget to use common sense.
