MANNEQUINS are born— not made, in the opinion of Harison Cook, Wellington's leading light in amateur theatricals and producerdirector of the New Zealand Pageant of Industry, to be held in the capital city this month. Mp.Rf this tall actor-producer in the course of your day's peregrinations round the city and you will go away with the impression of a keen and generous personality fresh upon you, inspired by the pleasing- candor of his engaging smile. The New Zealand Preference League knew its business when it left Harison Cook to puzzle out all the intricate designs of the pageantry. < With his beloved pipe, well lighted, he has sat and puzzled out something unique, yet brilliant and fascinating, that would make a ready appeal to the public. Director of the Wellington Repertory Society and at present coaching the Choral Union, H.C. has spent the last twenty-odd years of his life with things theatrical. A bass singer and producer of some note, he graduated to the roll of chief bass singer for the Carl Rosa Opera Company in London. He came to New Zealand after the war and turned his attention to moulding the splendid amateur talent in Christchurch and Wellington.
