TOUCHING-UP
BY very careful polishing with a fine abrasive rubbed on with a soft cloth held over the finger, paint scratches and such like blemishes may be removed or almost obliterated. For this purpose, the moist sediment usually found, m a tin or metal polish after its liquid contents have been used up is excellent. The work can be finished off by a final polishing with a paste of whiting and engine oil, after which the approved body polish may be put on to give a new glossy surface.
if there is not a great thickness of paint, be careful not to overdo the abrasive treatment, which naturally will not cure a scratch which has penetrated beneath the outer coloring coats to the priming coat or metal of the body.
