SILVER RULE

Brilliant Two- Year-Old Silver Rule, which won the Manuao Trial Plate at Otaki, is one of the first products of Silver Link (Achilles — Secret Link) to race. THE youngster led throughout, win- •* ning comfortably by three lengths, her display being a distinctly promising one. Unfortunately, the filly bled after the race, the cause being attributed to the bursting of a blood vessel m the nostrils, from which no ill-results are anticipated. Silver Rule appears probable to develop into a replica of her brilliant dam, which was redoubtable m sprint events. By the way, Silver Link, which won several thousands m stakes, was one of the bargains of the sale-ring when she was secured by A. Alexander, the New Plymouth sportsman, for an outlay of 80 guineas at a dispersal sale of the Waikanae yearlings several years ago.
