Unity Is Strength
Where one showed longer service than another, the prevailing human weakness to become a little boastful made itself manifest. This was not m the interests of the association — nor did it make for that unity which is such a desirable feature of all kindred bodies. In March last, the Wellington branch of the R.S.A. decided to place before the conference a proposal to consider a new badge. Several designs were submitted, the one that appealed most having the crown colors detachable, the idea being that each year when a member paid his fees, the color would be altered, thus denoting who Were and- who were not "financial" members of the R.S.A. ' When the matter finally came up for discussion by the conference, it was unanimously agreed that to ' change the design of the badge would be absolutely fatal. The old design was known throughout the length and breadth of New Zealand and, for that matter, m other parts of the world. It was later agreed that a new badge be struck, but that it should be an exact replica of the old one, only m miniature. — This desirable result has at last been
