LAMB AGAIN

(From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Dunedin Rep.) The appearance of R. W. ("Fatty") Lamb m Dunedin drew a large cr.owd to the Caledonian Ground last Saturday for the Otago Centre's meeting. IAMB showed /his superiority over F. j. Grose; the N.Z. amateur champion over two distances— half -mile and three miles. The half-mile proved a great go. The field was brought back for lagging m the first round. The second go proved electrifying.. Grose looked ail over a winner as he entered the straight with a length and a-half lead, but a magnificent 50yds. sprint by Lamb landed him home a winner by a wheel. In the three mile handicap, Lamb, again came away .at^, the fihish^and won by eight lengths. A feature of the day's sport was the excellent go between, R. W. Bander, N.Z. hurdle champion, and H. D. Morgan. C. H. Duff, off 10yds. and one hurdle scraped home by a yard.. Lander and Morgan, hurdling'beautifully, raced neck -and neck, Lander securing second place by a foot. The exhibition by Lander and Mor- ; gan over the sticks was one of the finest ever seen m Dunedin. Lander's time was 16 sees. — excellent time for the Caledonian ground.
